Looking in the depths of your soul

Do you now those moments when you're just not in the mood for smiling? Not that you're in a bad mood or something. You just feel like meh. And if you would try smiling for a picture, it would certainly look fake. This was one of those moments. While being on a study-break during a hot exam period last August, I was testing how half painted lips looked. Very subtle and minimizing I noticed.

For some reason I kinda like this picture, despite it's 'raw' and messy look. It looks like my eyes are staring directly into the deepest of your soul. Even more when this picture is enlarged, but that won't come out right with the blog lay-out so I can't show you. However I do feel a little weird about being drawn to my own eyes.

August

I am still on my lonely island like I said in a few post before. Which means I'm isolated, far away from friends and family since the beginning of August. Of course it is for a higher purpose: studying for resits! Meanwhile there where plenty of distractions, with a temporary absence of my internet connection (bye social contact!) as the most irritating one. Here is a little photo diary of random things in this lonely month.

Playing around with make up

Promise inspired me once more to play around with make-up. I tried shaping this time! I definitely need more practice but I was just testing some effects actually. And I need something nice to shape too. Here I used brow powder, because of the simple reason that it's matte. But it's hard to blend though! And next time it will be an eye pencil to redefine the eyelid instead of a liquid eyeliner. Anyway I had fun :) and I think I do look different in the first pics, mission accomplished !

See how I draw extra lashes on my eyelid! :p The line above should have been smudged but I was too lazy again. Further it's shaping, shaping and shaping! Now I just have to find something that blends better. Perhaps eye shadow or bronzer? It has to be matte...

Meet my BFF

My laptop is my best friend. (Sorry Ruby!) He is my most loyal buddie and knows all about me. We share several occasions and memories and sometimes he is my memory. He has several nicknames too (not only given by me!) like little apple - appeltje, lappy, little book - boekje. Oh yes, he's my favourite. And thanks to my lappy, I can show you some of the moments from last month.

Here I was having a break from studying. Like always during the studying period my hair annoyed me so I made a quick African style hairdo. Though I think it are the earrings that make it African-style. I started playing around with some make up. Starting with a green eyeshadow palette (Catrice Revoltaire LE) and adding some eye liner. The blush and highliter followed quickly.
Then I tried something I never ever do: eye liner and mascara under the eye. Very unflattering for me.
And still I couldn't stop. The eye liner blinked at me and I added some more liner and a white pencil on my waterline to create really big eyes. That didn't turned out as heavy as I thought so it needed a little bit help at last :)

Life is unfair, definitely.

Every time my hair starts getting greasy and I am planning to wash it immediately the next morning, it is: hello perfecthairday! Veeeerry annoying!
I think I was about five minutes awake here. I mean, come on! Why doesn't this happens on a school day or so? Instead of a random studyday morning, and I'm about to wash!

Here I was enjoying sunshine for the first time in my room, a very special moment. I always assumed my window was in the North cause I never ever saw the sun shining through the glass. Turned out that I was wrong. In summer, around 10 PM, I have 1 metre of sunshine, on my wall, yay !

This week was all about

... loving my new studded blouse from zara.
I've been wearing it way too much, but it looks good on everything.

... buying this cute little olive oil bottle, from Dille & Kamille.

Perfect for my place in Ghent.

...worrying about today's flute examination.

Another outfit

At last, another outfit post! The previous was in January or so? *blush*

That's what happens if you ain't got somebody around to take your pictures :) (and when you yourself are kinda lazy)

Please don't mind the hair, it was half wet (shower) at the moment. Now it looks horribly thin and short. Further the only things missing are a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses and some electric blue coloured nailpolish that I'm about to use right now!

While dreaming

 Do you know those periods that you're dreaming almost every night? Well I have it right now. Even this morning I woke up like a zillion times , fell asleep again and had almost every time another dream!

The only one I can remember now is the last one. I went searching for a new flat -which is actually a good idea :) I think I'll go searching later this day- with friend Katrijn. Then I was in a luxury house/hotel with Ruby. And then at their courtyard, making music, while Ruby was dancing. But the weird thing was that my grandparents and aunt where sitting there like an audience. After our performance my aunt and grandfather where discussing with us and telling us it's a shame that we stopped with our hobbies. (While I still play the flute!) I remember I was wondering the fact my grandfather was so clear (from dementia). Then I woke up again and realised my grandfather died last year.
Now I think I somehow replaced my grandmother for my grandfather. She has dementia too and a few weeks ago my mum tolled me she was very clear (for her) and asked after me.

Last Saturday was another weird one. My father woke me up and after a few minutes of enjoying my bed I went downstairs and had breakfast. The weird thing about this was the fact that my father on that moment really woke me up and everything happened again, for real this time. But it felt so real the first time! Afterwards I had a strong feeling that I woke up twice that day!

Welcome

January, the month of exams! I'm very busy with studying right now (wish me luck I can use some ;)

But I have some pictures to amuse. A while ago I took these photos of my new home (on weekdays though). It's very small -like in: very very small, but I figured out that can be quit handy ! Three steps to your sink makes me finally use a beauty-routine. And having a fridge on my room appeared to be positive too :D Anyway it's just for this year, next year I'm moving to something (hopefully) cosier.

My first postcard since I live here, yay! And it fits perfectly with the interior ;)

The images are from Monki Magazine. I had a very bare room in the beginning, and then I noticed the magazine, lying on my bed...
The wall stickers, who give a perfect green touch to my room are from Ikea :)
And the drawing at the end was made by a young illustrator at the Museum Night in Ghent. It says: "Do not forget to study!" And that's so true xD tough I'm not distracted by alcohol, rather by the world wide web with it's amazing fashion sites!

That was yesterday. And today I recieved a package, awesome !
Just by liking a facebookpage (months ago I think, I can't really remember). I received a message that I won a headphone of the brand Rocking Residence. It said I could choose the one I wanted. And tadaaaa !
Actually I wasn't sure if it was real, it could be spam or something x)
So I was very happy when I received a note in my mailbox, saying that a package was arrived.
I got a giant box at the reception of my building and oh yeah, there was my headphone! Awesome.

Funny actually, cause I often doubted about buying him. And now I got it for free :D
