My own personalised shoes

Let me tell you a little story about shoes, sportive shoes that is.

I've never been a sneaker type. Yes, I do own a pair of all stars from when I was 14 years old and yes I still wear them occasionally when I need shoes that might get dirty, but that's about it. That mostly summarizes my sneaker history.
And then there is the sports shoes story, which is even worse. I used to detest those things. I'm not a very sporty person, never have and probably never will. The only time you could find some sport shoes on my feet was during gymnastics at school. And even then against my will. The only thing I could think of was how ugly and huge they were.
You'll understand that I viewed the upcoming sneaker trend of the past years with suspicion. But surprisingly I slowly started to appreciate those low white all stars and even the Nike free runs. After working in a big sports store this holiday, and seeing those kind of shoes all around me, I started considering a pair of my own...

Exploring time! I spent a while searching on the internet for the sportive shoe of my dreams. Pretty soon I stumbled on this pair. Instant love. But since I strongly believe in real life fitting I decided to try on a similar pair first. And guess what, there appears to be a Nike store right next to the store I worked, that's handy! So I tried on a pair I thought (as a Nike noob) to be similar. And then the big shock came, they made me walk heavenly! Like my feet were two soft, comfy clouds. You can imagine where this is going. These little wonders appeared to be another model, the lunarglide, not the free run. And when I tried on the free run (with some help of the salesman), I was really disappointed. No comfy cloud feet this time, but an awkwardly wide part at the toes instead. Soooo what to do now? Order a not so comfy but beautiful pair of free runs or personalize my own heavenly comfy lunarglides?
Well, I choose the latter and present you: my own personalized pair of Nike ID lunarglides! They will arrive by the end of August and I honestly can't wait! Normally they will arrive just on time for my holiday, hooray!

After two months of blogging silence I suddenly felt the urge to take pictures and make new posts. It was the longest pause there ever was on the four years old existence of Two Wonder Girls. Apart from the eyeshadow and MAC lipstick these are all sales. The first dress will be shown in an outfit post soon, it's absolutely stunning! Further I found some great deals at our local Action. OPI nail polishes for about 3 euros and Sally Hansen for only 1 euro, insane! I also bought a 3-pack of Christmas ear studs for only one euro at H&M. It isn't really the right season, but I fell for the cute and chic snow flakes. Aren't they adorable?

In the end I think I can declare July as a successful sales period for me. I didn't bought very much nor very little and often with great bargains! Did you go sales shopping and had any luck? Do tell me!

Hi there, dear readers of my blog!
Finally I can present you the shoplog I promised in my previous post. It's the result of some short shopping trips last Holiday, two weeks ago. The two following weeks I was -excuse my language- working my ass of for school assignments and internships. In all those years I'm going to school, I've never worked so hard for school for such a period. Ahh, I'ld happily delete that from the list now.

Lately I'm more and more into writing letters, one of my boyfriends birthday gifts came out really useful: a lovely writing set! And because this is a blog, and therefore it's the perfect place to show off a little, I wanted to give you a little peek. Note that the drawing was just redrawn this time, no credits for the design.

Randomized birthday week

A moment ago I was enjoying the last of my seafood chocolates, my favourite type of pralines!

I've got them for my 21st birthday last Sunday, from my sweet boyfriend.

Unfortunately it resulted way too soon in this. Sad face.

Another birthday gift was a polaroid camera! I have to thank my friends this time for this truly awesome gift. First selfie: Check.

On Monday I went buying some presents for some others, and I stumbled on a large blanket scarf! That's my word for a huge scarf, it has similarities with a blanket in my opinion. I found this one at the Pieces store, and on sale!

Just love this colour combination. Difference in colours, patterns and texture, and still a neutral entity.

The series I'm watching at the moment. Unfortunately the dvd-drive of my laptop isn't responding anymore, so I have to get that fixed first. Hopefully it won't be too expensive. Sad face again.

June

June, probably my least favourite period of the year.
There wasn't much going on this month. Or in other words, there was a lot going on this month but I had to skip it because of exams. -Yeah, yeah, I'll stop complaining about them!- But I'm afraid I can't show you very exiting things now. However I can show you a little impression of my month! Most days felt the same, so it were the little things that made it more special. Have a look!

 Painting my nails with the nail polish Ruby gave me for my birthday. I have to admit that I secretly had doubts about it in the beginning, but that's gone now! I love this colour! Thanks Ru!

And then of course this happens... 

I am seriously thinking about buying OPI Drip Dry now! Any experience?

Time to go to bed! I love how cosy this looks when I turn off the main light and turn on my night light.

Guilty!

Guilty. I bought new shoes, again. Normally I'm not much of a shopaholic, on the contrary I'm keeping an eye on my shopaholic-friends! But I can justify my recent boughts. I liked my daily-worn boots from last year so much that I decided to re-buy them. I waited for January, and hoped to buy them in sale, which they weren't, sadly. But then something drew my attention from the corner of my eye. The same heels I liked a couple of months ago, on sale! I don't wear that often heels was my excuse last time, but now 70% cheaper they couldn't be ignored any longer.

Saturday's adventure

First of all, the Karen Millen dress was the lucky winner of my dress dilemma. It was just perfect for the gala. For a change I combined it with gold this time. A golden hair clip, golden vintage earrings, a brown vintage necklace with golden details and the same bag as last time guided my way through the party. The party was great, and I might have drank a little bit too much, but nevertheless I had an amazing time. Unfortunately the pics turned out rather bad. In other words, my face turned out rather bad on the pics. :p And you can't see any details. Anyway, here is a glimp!

But that wasn't what I wanted to talk about. Last Saturday I went to Amsterdam, like I said in the previous post. It was some sort of a school trip, not obligated, but recommended. The professor and my student union arranged a bus and early in the morning we left Ghent.  All my classes are in the afternoon this semester and I'm not a morning-person at all, so it was kinda strange for me get up that early. The city was still dark and quiet and it was extremely foggy, what gave it a mystique atmosphere. The drunk passenger who rave out incomprehensible nonsense somehow contributed to that.
After a two and a half hour ride I was surprised to see that it was still foggy! Nothing more mysterious then entering a "new" place when it's foggy, and you only see tops of buildings emerging.

First of all we went to the brand new EYE museum, and saw an interesting exhibition about experimental film. Probably because of the fog again, but it looked so much like a space ship!

Some impressions of Amsterdam...

Notice the huge bathtub above? That's the second museum we went to, het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. I was truly amazed by the artists they displayed. All the big names of modern and contemporary art history were represented! From Monet till Mondriaan, Malevitch, Braque, Picasso, Appel, Warhol, Pollock, Newman, Judd and so on.

Afterwards I shot some quick outfit pics, just to please you, cause I was tired as hell! We arrived around 10.30 P.M. in Ghent again.

And finally, my boughts! Yes, we had some spare time, and I had loved to go die hard shopping, but unfortunately my friend isn't as addicted to shopping as I am. No hard feelings, everybody has their own interests and I didn't want to push her. Though I was dying a little when I passed Weekday. I'm so glad we didn't passed Monki, that challenge would have been too big! Anyway, I'm certain that I want to go back soon. Maybe in February after my exams? Friend C talked about it with Ruby and me, and I must say, now I definitely wanna go !

Back to Saturday. We did go to some store and I managed to buy some useful stuff. Oh, I'm always so happy when I buy useful things. First we crossed Options, a contemporary department store which I read about before on belmodo.tv. They had some awesome stuff but my heart especially skipped a beat when I saw their Hurraw! lipbalm collection. Ever since I read about the effect of mineral oil in lip balm I wanted one without it. Buying one online was a little too much effort and I couldn't find any in Belgium, even good old The Body Shop disappointed me. On misslipgloss.nl I read about those ecologic Hurraw! lipbalms, and they looked perfect. So that's how I ended up with this little guy.

We also went to Waterstones, an awesome English bookstore that I also went to last time. But last time I was too full of doubt about buying a compilation of Jane Austen for just 18 euros for Ruby's birthday (I didn't eventually because I would have been a half year ahead), to notice the other great books. I bought a little diary for 2013. My previous one ended in August, but since I made it till November, I can make it one month longer without a diary.

And last bot not least, key caps! I was looking for cool key caps for so long, but I couldn't find any, even Urban Outfitter hadn't got any. I bought these Oreo-look-a-likes in the museum shop of the Stedelijk Museum. I still think they're beyond awesome! But I can't get away of trying one now. Yes indeed, I have never tried an Oreo! Don't you agree that they look disgusting? Come on, they're black, like drop. Yuk.

September's yield

The moment my resits were done had to be celebrated of course. And how do you celebrate some frustrated weeks of constantly studying? Shopping of course ! So the next Saturday after my music lessons I immediately went to the Wijnegem Shopping Center with my broken phone as a perfect excuse. It resulted in some beautiful boughts, that are mainly basic. Mission accomplished!
Further I have to apologise for the colours, they are different in reality, but they come close to the original colours!

Not very basic, but a black blouse always comes in handy, even if it's see through. And I immediately fell in love with the leather collar! (New Look)

And of course after buying a cardigan, I spotted another one!
I rarely pass the children's section in my local H&M, since it's on a floor without woman's clothing lately. But this time I entered the store via this floor and on my way to the escalator I noticed this cute cardigan, looking rather big, and oh so cheap! (Just 15 Euros, wow!) You'll understand I made a little happy dance in the fitting room. Or maybe I did that mentally. (H&M kids)

So that's it! Meanwhile my September shoplog has grown more and more, certainly after my holiday this week! But more about that later...
