2011, A year full of trends

A summary of the past trends of 2011. That is what I made for you. I hope you'll enjoy!

The colourblock has probably ruled the streets, we saw colour popping everywhere. Even the colored (skinny) jeans from a few years ago came back.

It was also the year of fur, finally breaking through. Even I bought my first furry thing! (A gorgeous leo coat, but I haven't got pictures of it yet.)

The minimalistic trend was huge this year and my prediction it that it will become even more popular. Leading (payable) brand here is COS, mark my words..

Further we saw maxi skirts became very popular. Seen for years on celebrities and this year finally spotted on the streets. Followed by the rise of asymmetrical skirts.
A great example here fore is our dearest Ruby, who bought like a zillion long skirts last year haha ! But she's not the only one who loved it :)

And leather of course. Leather pants, leather skirt, and especially the leather dress, tell me an item and it is probably worn this year.

Although Bob Marley said: “Don't gain the world and lose your soul, wisdom is better than silver or gold…”, Silver and gold became very trendy instead of trashy. Metallics were totally hip! Of course you still had to use your combining skills, otherwise you still might look like mis bling bling.

And at last we saw the rise of the snakeskin. ZARA went for it all the way. But it didn't made it to the streets. And that's quit unfortunate, I really liked it! Especially the ZARA's way of combining it with black leather and red suede.

Qua popular designer items, we saw the Celine bag passing by, and the one from Philippe Lim 3.1 with zippers, Isabel Marant's dicker boots and the not-so-elegant creeprs. All very often copied by low-end brands.
